Onboard IFSA is an excellent and useful tool to provides the latest information about all IFSA happenings, from the upcoming conferences and meetings to the latest member company news. It also updates members on the most up-to-date government and regulatory news that affects the industry.
Online Membership Directory IFSA's Online Membership Directory contains keys information for each IFSA member. The online directory is quick and easy and allows members to update their own listing using a unique password. The online directory enables members to search for their colleagues by almost any field imaginable. Best of all, the Directory is always accessible via the Association's Web site.
IFSA Annual Conference & Exhibition Each year the IFSA Annual Conference provides an opportunity to experience excellent educational speakers, panel discussions, culinary demos, and general sessions focused on important issues in the inflight and onboard foodservice industry. An exhibition is held in conjunction with the Conference to exhibit the latest innovations in the industry while providing an excellent opportunity to network and meet individuals considered to be the key leaders and decision makers in onboard services.
IFSA Global Leadership Conferences: Asia-Pacific and Latin America & The Caribbean Network with and learn about our members and counterparts in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America & The Caribbean regions while attending these annual conferences. Featuring topics specifically selected for the audience and locale, these conferences are held in intimate locations to learn and meet inflight onboard services professionals in these growing regions.
IFSA Food Safety Summit IFSA hosts additional workshops throughout the year, including the Government Affairs Committee-sponsored Food Safety Summit, which provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about cutting-edge topics from experts in the field as well as another opportunity to network with fellow IFSA members.
Web site The IFSA Web site provides easy access to Association information including conference and trade show updates, educational programs, member networking, award programs, and listings of IFSA's Board of Directors and committees. The Web site is a vital tool that offers members convenient online registration for conferences and events, and a members-only section, which includes the interactive online membership directory.
HACCP Workshops Food Safety and quality assurance programs are increasingly utilizing the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system to help ensure safe food. IFSA's HACCP Management Systems for onboard services seminars are designed to provide the latest information on current setup and effective monitoring of HACCP systems for the production, delivery and service of onboard food. These two-day workshops address the principles of HACCP including Hazard Analysis, CCP’s, SOP’s and verification steps and more, using brand new training aids and workbooks, including the new IFSA Audit tool. Importantly, the new material is consistent with the World Food Safety Guidelines. The Food Safety Workshops are suitable for management, supervisors, chefs, customer service managers, food safety auditors, quality control managers and suppliers.
IFSA Foundation The IFSA Foundation was established in 2000 and presently offers six scholarships.
Underwritten by donations to the IFSA Foundation, the IFSA Foundation Scholarship Award offers a $4,500 award to children of (and stepchildren residing with) current IFSA members. Award recipients are selected because of their scholastic merit and dedication to persuing an advanced degree.
Underwritten by Distribution & Service, Inc. (DSI), located in Fairfax, Virginia, the $4,000USD DSI Supply Chain Development Award provides the opportunity for individuals involved in onboard food supply chain to further their education in continuing education programs. Individuals are selected to receive the award based on merit, experience, and dedication to furthering their leadership career in onboard catering operations.
The International Flight Services Association Foundation is pleased to launch Horizon – LSG Sky Chefs’ International Management Award this year. Underwritten by LSG Sky Chefs, this award promotes multi-cultural awareness and provides the opportunity for individuals involved in onboard services/catering to further their education in specified continuing education programs. Individuals are selected to receive the award based on merit, experience, and dedication to furthering their leadership career in onboard catering operations. The $4,500USD Award may be applied toward tuition, living expenses, books and associated costs for leadership development programs at the following schools or other internationally accredited schools or programs comparable to those listed: University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business; University of Chicago, School of Business; Emory University, Goizueta Business School; Stanford University, Graduate School of Business; Thunderbird School of Global Management, Thunderbird University; and McGill MBA Japan Program, Sofia University.
This Harvey & Laura Alpert Scholarship Award provides the opportunity for students at Michigan State University (MSU) involved in The School of Hospitality Business. Individuals are selected to receive the $5,000USD award based on scholastic merit and dedication to pursuing a career in onboard services operations.
Underwritten by Strictly From Scratch, the Tommy DePaola Scholarship Award, created in the memory of Tommy DePaola, provides the opportunity for students involved in hospitality programs to further their education. Individuals are selected to receive the $2,250USD award based on scholastic merit and dedication to pursuing a career in the hospitality industry, and are either a cancer survivor or have lost an immediate family member (parent or sibling) to cancer.
Underwritten by Authentic Italian Products, the Lois Campbell Scholarship Award, created in the memory of Lois Campbell, provides the opportunity for students involved in hospitality programs to further their education. Individuals are selected to receive the $2,250USD award based on scholastic merit and dedication to pursuing a career in the hospitality industry, and are either a cancer survivor or have lost an immediate family member (parent or sibling) to cancer.
Standing Committees IFSA has seven standing committees including Conference Planning, Government Affairs/Education, Membership, Latin America & the Caribbean, Latin America & the Caribbean Planning, Strategic Alliance Subcommittee, and Asia Pacific. Through the reports of its standing committees, IFSA is able to keep the membership abreast of the constant evolution of inflight and railway foodservice.
President's Award The Presidents' Award gives IFSA members the opportunity to recognize individuals or a group for outstanding achievements in the areas of humanitarian service, dedication to the industry and its associations, and to improvement of the environment. These achievements are characterized by a passion to excel, and a commitment to the betterment of the industry without regard to personal reward for the individual or his or her company. The award is presented annually at the IFSA Conference during the Annual Conference. |
